About Nicole

Counsellor. Creative. Someone who sees the patterns.

I’m Nicole, a PACFA-registered counsellor with a background in design and a lifelong curiosity about what shapes the way we feel and relate. I’ve always been the person who notices what isn’t said out loud: the emotional patterns, the tension beneath a reaction, the quieter parts of someone’s story that want to be understood.

My work centres on helping people make sense of their emotions and attachment patterns with clarity and compassion. I’m drawn to the places where people feel confused, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. My role isn’t to fix you, but to help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface so you can move to the other side of what you’re struggling with.

The Otherside grew from something I’ve learned about myself. My strength is in sitting with people at their emotional edges, offering insight, steadiness and clarity, and helping them see the truth of their inner world without judgement or pressure. I’m wired for this kind of work. Awareness and attention come naturally to me.

This is a grounded space where you can put words to things you’ve carried quietly and begin to feel more connected to yourself again. You deserve clarity, compassion, and a place to land.

The way we work together matters

My Approach

My style is collaborative, intuitive, and grounded in presence. I don’t sit behind a clipboard. I show up as a real person, listening, reflecting, and creating space for you to be honest about what’s going on beneath the surface.

I draw on evidence-based counselling tools and integrate creative or somatic approaches when they feel right. This might include metaphor, body awareness, or visualisation, but only if it supports your process. Sessions are shaped around what you need. Everyone is different, and the issues we carry are rarely one-dimensional.

I’m trauma-informed and understand how past experiences can show up in the present, in relationships, in the nervous system, and in the stories we tell ourselves. While trauma may emerge in our work, it isn’t the focus unless it needs to be. This is a space for your whole self, not just your pain.

Most of all, I believe therapy is not about fixing you. It’s about walking alongside you as you reconnect with what matters, at a pace that feels safe and true.

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
